About cloudLibrary eBooks & Audiobooks

Cloud LibraryThe cloudLibrary was a shared ebook & audiobook collection available to all Wyoming citizens with a WYLD library card.

The cloudLibrary service began in July 2012 and ceased in May 2021.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why did the digital library program move to Overdrive?
All public libraries and the community colleges in the WYLD consortium now have access to Overdrive/Libby for their patrons.  The cloudLibrary duplicated an existing service. In addition, Overdrive offers several simultaneous use options for licensing that were not available through the cloudLibrary.

How were patrons notified?
Patrons were notified about this change in a variety of ways including in-app notification, social media, and other channels of communication.  Information about the change will be posted on the digital content pages in GoWYLD as well. Due to Bibliotheca's privacy policy, the company could not share user emails with us and there were a significant number of library cards that did not include email addresses, so we determined that email messaging would not be effective.

What happened to patron data?
When setting up the cloudLibrary apps, patrons agreed to the company's End User Licensing Agreement (EULA).  The app also provided a link to the company's privacy policy and terms of use (TOU).  When agreeing to the EULA, users agreed to allow the company to retain data for up to 7 years.  Patrons may request that any data associated with their library card be anonymized by emailing cloudsupport@bibliotheca.com and making that request on an individual basis.  The subject line should contain "Cloud Library Privacy Policy" and the patron should include the library card number associated with their cloudLibrary account.

Any data stored locally on a patron's device will be removed when the app is uninstalled.

Patron apps policies are linked below for convenience.
