March 2021
Every Wyoming public library, community college library, and the University of Wyoming will soon have access to Overdrive/Libby.
Due to this change in statewide access, the cloudLibrary will no longer be available after mid-May 2021.
If your library already offers access to Overdrive/Libby, you are encouraged to begin using it for your digital book and audiobook needs as soon as possible. See current members
Why is the digital book program moving to Overdrive?
All public libraries and the community colleges in the WYLD consortium will have access to Overdrive/Libby for their patrons soon. The cloudLibrary duplicates an existing service, and libraries will only need to support one platform for their patrons' needs. In addition, Overdrive offers several simultaneous use options for licensing that are not available through the cloudLibrary.
Can I keep all my holds and favorites from cloudLibrary?
Unfortunately, patron data cannot be transferred between platforms. If there is any content that you wish to keep, such as your checkout history, you will need to record that information prior to the middle of May.
Will I still have access to all the ebooks and audiobooks that are in the cloudLibrary?
The majority of content will transfer from cloudLibrary to Overdrive, but some older titles or those purchased under outdated licensing models may not. The ability to transfer licenses between platforms is controlled by the individual publisher of the works.
How do I get help using Overdrive or the Libby app?
For assistance with Overdrive or Libby, contact the library where your card is registered. Participating libraries will include all public libraries in Wyoming, the community colleges, and the University of Wyoming. You will also find help on many topics at https://help.overdrive.com/en-us/home.htm
Can I continue using the cloudLibrary?
All content will remain available through the middle of May, however, we will reduce the number of checkouts and holds allowed to lessen the impact on users during the transition. Users are strongly encouraged to start using Overdrive as soon as possible for checking out and placing holds on materials.
